Marburg is a university city, the 8th largest city in the state Hessen. It is directly next to the river Lahn. Our apartments are ideally located in the center of Marburg. The university is only 500 meters away. In the immediate vicinity you will also find many shops, restaurants, cafés and supermarkets.
You will find our apartments right in the center of Marburg. Marburg is located between Frankfurt and Kassel, about 20 minutes from Giessen and one hour from Frankfurt Airport. There are different ways you can get to us. If you arrive by train, walk about 8 minutes from Marburg main station (Marburg Hbf). There is also the option of taking a bus from the train station (name of our stop: Elisabethkirche). In general, the big bus companies (such FlixBus etc) also offer travel to Marburg. Otherwise, you are welcome to come to us by car. We are also happy to welcome cyclists who ride a bike along the river Lahn or hikers who follow the St. Jacob’s trail.
The Elisabeth Church in Marburg was built between 1235 and 1283 over the grave of Saint Elisabeth and became one of the most important pilgrimage sites in the western world.
In terms of art history, it ranks as the earliest purely Gothic church east of the river Rhine. The builders of the church created the type of Gothic hall church, which became a model for the further development of the Gothic style in Germany.
